Sex is perfectly safe throughout your entire pregnancy unless you have a medical condition for which your doctor tells you to refrain. It has long been believed that sex at the end of your pregnancy will help bring labor on, but it is an Old Wives' Tale. I have 4 children who were all born past their due dates (by 9 days, 11 days, 5 days and 7 days). By the time my due date came and went I was trying all matters of things to get labor moving. Sex with orgasm did not make things happen any sooner than my body and my baby were ready. Nor did walking, eating spicy food, and driving down back bumpy roads. Semen contains the hormone prostaglandin, which is believed to soften the cervix and encourage contractions. An orgasm may cause some contractions, but they are not likely to be productive and will stop. You can ask your doctor for a professional opinion on this, but I think you can have sex throughout your pregnancy and not worry about premature labor.

They say that an orgasm can trigger labor, but only if your body and baby are ready for you to go into labor. Most Doctors say that it's fine to have sex the whole 9 months you are pregnant as long as it's a healthy pregnancy.

It's all totally fine as long as you don't get to the point where you cannot catch your breath or are on the verge of fainting or something. As a low risk pregnancy in a physically fit woman who exercises daily, the chances are slim to none that doing some entertaining and cooking are going to cause a problem. And you are doing your baby really good by making nutritious home cooked meals, and I hope you have the energy to continue after you recover from having the baby. Home cooking seems to be a dying art these days. Congrats on your baby, and keep doing everything you are doing. :)

i think it's the sperm that makes your cervix soft! And having an orgasm can cause you to have your uterus contracting. So most likely you'll get braxton hicks after sex.

It can but semen is known to cause labor because semen actually softens the cervix.
