Understanding Yeast Infection -- Symptoms
What Are Yeast Infections?
Yeast infections -- sometimes called candidiasis -- takes many forms. They often develop where a moist environment encourages fungal growth, especially on the webs of fingers and toes, nails, genitals and folds of skin. Types include:
Oral thrush is a painless, often recurrent yeast infection of the mouth and throat. It is common in babies, young children and the elderly, but can affect all ages.
Moniliasis is a painful vaginal yeast infection experienced by approximately 75% of women, most commonly during pregnancy or treatment with antibiotics.
Balanitis is a less common but equally irritating infection of the penis.
Intertrigo can occur on the skin, particularly in large skin folds in obese people.
Systemic yeast infections can occur in cases of diabetes, AIDS, and other ailments or drug treatments that suppress the immune system
What Causes Yeast Infections?
Candida albicans is a fungal organism, or yeast, that thrives in your mouth, gastrointestinal tract, and skin; your body produces bacteria that keep it in check. When fungal growth exceeds the body's ability to control it, yeast infection develops.
This can happen when you are weakened by illness or upset by stress. Modern antibiotics that treat many ailments can actually kill the bacteria that otherwise control fungal outbreaks.
Yeast infections are common among dishwashers and people whose hands are often in water, in children who suck their thumbs or fingers, and in people whose clothing retains body moisture. The diaper rash called candidal dermatitis is caused by yeast growth in the folds of a baby's skin.
Diabetics are especially prone to yeast infections because they have high levels of sugar in their blood and urine, and a low resistance to infection -- conditions that encourage yeast growth.
In rare cases, the candida fungus may invade the bloodstream through an intravenous (IV) tube or urinary catheter used in hospitalized patients. If the infection travels to the kidneys, lungs, brain, or other organs, it can cause serious systemic complications, but these develop only in people who are seriously ill or who have other health problems that weaken the immune system, such as drug addiction or diabetes.

sounds like a urinary tracht infection. classic symptoms! drink lots of water and have a glass of cranberry juice every day, my urologist told me i could never take tub baths again ,so i am committed to only have showers. guess what? i havent had any more infections. a yeast infection is very uncomfortable as you have severe vaginal itching and a white discharge. you dont usually get this unless you are sexually active. if your symptons dont clear up you need to re-visit the doctor. sometimes they put you on an anti-biotic that is called broad spectrum until they get the results back from the lab, then they will know exactly which medication will work. hope this helps you till you see your doctor.

A yeast infection is caused when the natural bacteria that's in the vagina gets imbalanced. It's not fatal, but it's very uncomfortable & easy to treat & get rid of. Itching & burning sensation when you urine or when you don't have to urine. A cottage cheese looking discharge. It's a funny type of itching, it's hard to describe, but you know it's a yeast infection when you have the itching. It's kind of like a mosquito bite in the area where the sun don't shine.

With the newer types of insulin these days, diabetic diets aren't necessarily as restrictive as they used to be. Read here https://tr.im/5yEBx
As with any medicine or diet change, you should discuss it with your doctor. Fruits, both fresh and dried, have a natural sugar in them that will raise blood sugar levels, so be careful about eating too much. Not sure about the nuts. Moderation is always the key. I've been diabetic for 18 years and just recently changed insulin types. I love it because it gives me more freedom in when and what I eat.

Yeast infections are generally caused by an organism called Candida albicans or Candidiasis and there is no direct evidence that it is passed through sexual intercourse. Almost half of all healthy, sexually active women, and one-third of all pregnant women tested had Candida albicans which may indicate that sexual activity itself may contribute to the growth of Candida albicans.
But there are many types of yeast infecions. Certain types of yeast may be present in harmless amounts in the:
bowels
digestive tract
mouth
skin
vagina
Yeast infections or fungal growths usually develop in a moist environment, such as:
