there are different levels of life consciousness in a living form. The potential is there in a sperm to become a baby, and there is more potential in an embryo to become a baby, (although many women have spontaneous abortions and just think they are menstrual periods).
I do believe it is sinful to kill an embryo and also a sperm too, But it is a vastly different level. Also it is sinful to kill an innocent animal, or mosquito, but one is worse to do. And it is COMPLETELY different to kill a baby. Really its not good to kill any life, but everyone kills to live.
It's not good to kill 5 day old embryos, it's worse to kill older embryos, worse to kill a small fetus, worse to kill an innocent animals etc etc.
all life is sacred, but there are levels to it as well. use common sense.

Also pro-lifers don't understand that the physical body does not make up a person, it is the soul within, and that does not die when the body dies. Everyone is making choices of what they will kill or not kill. it is up to the person if they have decided to do so.
My mother wanted to have me, and if she didn't want to have me I dont think i would like to be born to her. I would prefer my abortion and i would go elsewhere

Hi, I am pro-life. I find your question interesting. I also don't believe in sex before marriage. I believe that sex should only be for making children but it is difficult for me personally to fallow that high standard, (lol). Anyways...(there is the perfect high standard and then there is the imperfect me :o)

1. men who were women part of the time, and during that time became pregnant.

3. animals becoming pregnant with humans.
4. sperm developing into babies without the assistance of a female human womb.
5. human babies discovered in in the wombs of fish!
6. a baby born in two halves and born to two separate mothers.

If the killing of a 5 day old embryo is for a high purpose....I must reconsider this question.
Do you want to feed on the carcass of an embryo as people do everyday with baby cows and dogs and horses and kangaroos and pigs etc etc?
Is it to feed starving children in africa? (this is a good excuse many cow eaters use for eating meat?) anyways.
I think masterbating is not a pious activity, and killing an embryo is the same as elicit sex, as well as birth control and all that.
p.s. I am not saying that I am a perfect and pious person here.

when men masturbate it is not the same as killing a baby . who thought you that stupidness. when a man comes in a women majority of the times only one sperm gets in the egg. so the other sperms die . is that killing a baby . NOOO!!! only when that sperm gets in the egg then it becomes a life . and yes killing a five day embryo is killing a baby because it already started to live . I honestly hate to hear people talk about abortion it sucks . what about if your mother had an abortion when she was pregnant of you . you ever thought of that .

The whole thing about masturbation being a sin is based on the story of Onan in the Bible. Onan's brother died, and according to the law of the time Onan was supposed to get his brother's wife pregnant (no, I'm not making it up - read Genesis 28). Anyway, Onan didn't want to father any kids so he pulled out and "spilled his seed on the ground". Somehow, that gets turned into masturbation is a sin! Some Christians seem to think anything that involves sex is a sin. And yes, of course the sperm will die anyway.

It is an individual.
If you kill it, you kill a human individual.
An egg doesn't count
Sperm doesn't count.

When you take HS biology you'll be able to clear this up, but to give you a preview, sperm cells alone aren't human life. This may explain why despite having millions of sperm cells in their bodies at a time, men don't get pregnant.
