My daughter had a baby a week ago and today she has been having pain in her lower left side. It is pretty painful, does anyone know what it might be? Or if she should be concerned?

I had that. I couldn't sit up or get up without crying out in pain. It was an infection after my c-section. Send her back to her OB doctor. She shouldn't be having anything "painful". She might be uncomfortable, but shouldn't be in pain.

It could be gas. have her lay on her left side and see if that dosent help. It wouldnt hurt to call the dr and talk to an advice nurse.

It could relate to the ovary, you might want to call the Ob Gyn and share the information.
