No. More than likely these letters are scams. In fact, the other day in my law class, we went over a scam letter. Here are the elements of a scam letter.
1) You are called a "friend" or something else that is endearing.
2) You are told that this is of the utmost importance. It is top secret and only you know about it.
3) There is limited time, so you have to act fast.
4) Spelling errors. (For ex. America is spelled Ammerica.)
Usually these letters are filled with spelling errors. Anyone who wants to send you a million dollars would take the appearance of the letter more seriously.
Hope this helps!

Absolutely... Think of all those poor nigerians. I mean the country as a whole has around 5 or 6 hundred dollars saved but apparently there are a few diamond miners that have been hording all their money and the only way for them to get it out is if YOU... give them your account. What could possibly go wrong with that. remember think of the starving nigerians

Remember the old saying, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Do you have any idea how many people are getting those same messages? Do you really think that anybody in Nigeria has picked you out of the blue to receive millions of dollars? Do you know what happens when you reply? You will start getting requests for information, like bank account information, then you will start getting requests for small amounts of money to set up the transaction. If you fall for any of this, just remember that you have been warned.

No it's a huge scam. There were discussing it on the radio and the Opera show. They make friends with you and even send you some money but then they earn your trust and scam you somehow. Don't do it.

If you believe in them, sure. Then later, make sure you tell the Welfare Counselor that you were stupid enough to trust anyone wanting you to give them access to your bank account which put you into the poor house.
If you're so bent on giving away your money, why not just give it away to a worthy charity?
