There are so many great ones, but I like to pick out films not generally thought of as musicals, like Pink Floyd The Wall or The Blues Brothers. Also, Richard O'Brien's two musicals, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Shock Treatment are definitely keeperes.

My all time favorite two musicals (I can't choose from between them) are Singin' in the Rain and Guys and Dolls.
Singin' in the Rain was the first musical I ever saw (on TV - I'm not that old!) and I was mesmerized by the dancing of Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor. O'Connor moves with such facility that he seems almost boneless, and Kelly's athleticism is amazing.
Guys and Dolls stars Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra at their best-looking, and how handsome they were! Brando's not the best singer in the world, but he does a credible job. The song lyrics are witty and will stay with you for days!
I know they're old, but don't let that put you off. They hold up well!

My all-time fave is 'Shock Treatment'!!! The songs are awesome and sound just as strange now as they did in 1981...LOL! This was the supposed 'Equal' to 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show'. It has some of the same 'characters' from RHorror, such as 'Brad' and 'Janet' (now played by 2 different but competent actors). It also has several RHorror actors, only playing different roles. The story takes place in Denton, the same town as RHorror and there are LOTS of 'inside jokes'. From start to finish, you'll be addicted!
