In many respects a 19 yr old is an adult, you can drive a car, vote, buy cigs, be in the armed forces, live on your own, hold a job, pay taxes, etc. everything except purchase alcohol. 19 is more of an in between stage, no longer a child, but not fully an adult either.

My first thought is that they are an adult. But even adults make childish decisions. Not ALL 19 year old people can be considered an adult. Now the LAW on the other hand will treat you like an adult...and put you in prison regardless.

when I was 22, I dated a 19 year old.

Looking back on things, she was very much a child in an adult's body, which is why things didn't work out well for us in the end. She still had some growing up to do.

It depends on how they act. Some 19 years old are still very much children. However, I consider my 18 yr old an adult because she acts so mature.

When I was 19 I thought adult. Now I'm older, I think child. Young adult at best.

a 19 year old is LEGALLY an adult, but some people would consider them a child. for instance, a mother would even consider her 50 year old son a child because she's his/her mother. it just depends on everyone. 19 year olds are LEGALLY adults, so that means their parents cannot make them do things anymore. but just because they're legally adults, they may not act like one, so don't be fooled!
