Safety features are installed on machines for good reasons, some are for your safety, some are for the machines safety, none are installed so they can be a bother.

You would have to assume that the switch is somewhere near the shift lever or on the transmission. People have backed over kids and pets so.......... Some switchs can just be unplugged and some have to be unplugged and a jumper wire installed in the plug. You may be able to unsecure the switch and move it out of the way.

Well, you would need to find where it located and bypass it. It can work one of two ways;
(1) It breaks the connection to the ignition, like turning off the key.
(2) It shorts the ignition to ground and the engine die.
I would assume it #1.
I bypassed the switch on my seat. Got tired of having it die just because I got off for a few seconds.
These switches are for peoples safety. But, years ago when people were smart they really did not need them, just think and use common sense.
