Jeff, there are a LOT of female bandwagon Spurs fans, but not all. I copied, cut and pasted my response to your earlier similar question. (Followed below)... I sadly agree, however, that many female Spurs fans disappeared, and some have put the "real female Spurs fans" to shame. i.e: I heard on the radio (WOAI in SA, which I get with a lot of static locally) some lady saying that the Spurs colors were white and black, and needless to say, lost to some contest on the radio... I was too far to respond (I try to listen to the Spurs radio games when I can't get them here in NM). Even some of my female friends are now Spurs fans ONLY because they are winning. Anyway, what follows is my response to an earlier question you asked. :) BTW, thanks for choosing it as the best response. I'm also sorry that I couldn't get the TV coverage of the Spurs arrival today and tomorrow's celebration parade, etc. ... :( Also, btw, I'm watching last night's recorded game as I respond... I have all 4 winning games on tape... hope to get them on DVD soon.... Here's my previous answer to your similar question:
I've been a Spurs fan since 1979, when I moved there and lived there' I loved their team attitude, and enjoyed watching pro basketball. I recall going to many almost half-empty games at the arena, but I got to pay for cheap seats and move up close to better seats. I hated it when we lost good players like Alvin Robertson, Maxwell. The last 2 (and others) were traded because they got into domestic issues, and the team owners did not put up with such. That's another thing I like about the Spurs - win or lose, the owners also look for "good" people. (That's why they were called the "choir boys," and now are considered "boring." Flashy and bad is what some like in basketball. Spurs have neither.) My friends used to make fun of me because I liked such a losing team... I always had hope, but I have to admit, didn't believe they'd ever play, much less win a finals!
I no longer live in SA, lived to Dallas - never a Mavs fan, even Dallas residers weren't until they started winning - lived in LA - NEVER, NEVER a Lakers fan... still following my Spurs in NM, surrounded by many Lakers fans and "last minute" band-wagon Spurs. So, there you have it... a TRUE SPURS FAN!
btw, you should see my "spurs room" at home where I have a lot of the old Spurs players pics, and memorabilia... I even have an 8X10 of each starting player of 1987 team.
PS I'm still here -- haven't disappeared.

What bandwagon? I've been a fan of the Spurs since they came to San Antonio in 1973. And I promise you won't have to put up with me in Baseball. I'd rather watch a snail race. And I don't give a rip about the Yankees.

They want to feel like they belong somewhere, so naturally they go with the winning team. This is very common. I live in San Antonio, and consider myself a 'fan', but I also think they are a boring team to watch.

Ha! Good question! I'm from SA and I can tell you that it's not just the girls that jumped on the bandwagon. But, I will tell you that girls tend to like celebrity gossip more than men... and who better to gossip about than Eva Longoria and her fiance? Our team's just good. Everyone should jump on, if you ask me!
