Between those two, I would say go with the AMD. I can't get really too detailed in the answer, I looked at gaming benchmarks for both processors and the AMD in this case was faster, pretty simple. The Core 2 Duos are generally faster, but you have selected one of the lower end Core 2 Duos and put it against the second fastest Athlon 64 X2, so the AMD comes out ahead.

If WOW and skyrim is what you will play 1000$ is extra advantageous than sufficient right this is a huge Comp for 2000$ ( an overkill stressful for many video games out) Processor - i5 3570k Gpu - radeon hd 7970 ghz version capability furnish - Corsair 750 watts Mobo - ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Ram - G.skill Sniper sequence 8GB stressful force - Seagate Barracuda SATA 6.0Gb/s a million tb + SATA 6.0Gb/s one hundred twenty gb ssd demonstrate screen - 3 X 24 inch (any) (O.O) Case - COOLER grasp HAF X LOL it nevertheless would not touch 2000$

It depends on your own preferences. The intel is fast but will overheat faster. AMD is a good sturdy brand for processors and can hold up very well over time. Make sure to check your computer's capabilities before purchasing.

Either of these would be pretty good and would work just fine, although you can get better. A good gaming PC also depends a lot on RAM, your graphics card, and other things. make sure you have at least 1 GB of RAM (you might want more), and at least a 256 MB graphics card.

Go with the INTEL, the benchmark test is better. (http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html)
