Most of my relatives are messed up about what they need to be doing in life. One is in jail, one is homesless, another well, it gets worse. I try not to say anything, since they rarely listen, but there is a part of my life that was once part of their life too.
I feel really confused, should I risk everything of mine to help them?

You sound like a very compassionate person. I really admire you. The risk of going back is that you can get dragged into their lifestyle and habits. Obviously you care very much for them but if they don't want your help, there is nothing you can do. They've chosen to be where they're at and until they want to change, they won't.
As you said, they've heard it all before and still live the life they want to live.
People make choices-good and bad. You've made a good choice to live your life differently. Don't feel guilty about that. The healthier you get, the more you can influence them for the better. Take care of yourself. And know that every prayer for them you send up is making a difference.
Good luck.

Suggest counseling to them, be there for them and listen to their problems with a sympathetic attitude. However, don't get so involved that you bring yourself down to their level. It's not necessary for you to risk anything. If you show them by example how their lives could change, it will help them if they really want help. Other than that, they need a professional counselor to steer them in the right direction, but there again, only if they want it that way. You can't make them change if they don't want to. I do admire you for your concern of your family members, but don't let their problems mess up your life. It might help you to speak to a counselor yourself, to get some concrete answers to helping them with their problems. Good luck!
