No way... He's still alive. Meadow still can't park... AJ is still an annoying wimp... Carmela is still a *****.. And Paulie is still a grouchy bastard.. Tony is way to valuable alive.... He makes good money for everyone around him.. And as long as he keeps doing that, he'll stay alive and in the same business..

I have heard the argument that the non-ending was fitting to the Sopranos show, but I disagree. Yes, it might've ended with everyone getting shot at the end, but I think the writers for the show wimped out by not giving us an ending. By leaving it open ended, they didn't exactly inspire us to think of our own ending. All I felt was cheated.
However, if I were writing the ending, I would've had the guy at the diner try to kill the whole family. Tony, because he is smart and always prepared, whips out a concealed weapon and shoots the guy. The four Sopranos end up on a beach somewhere living off their savings.
All these guesses that he got offed make me mad. He was not sitting unaware in that diner. He was hunched over and inspecting everybody who walked by. No one would've caught him off guard to kill him unsuspectingly like they did Phil Leotardo.
