My husband & I have rental properties so I can answer this for you, YES! We have it wrote in our lease that they must have our permission before sharing the rental. We do reference checks on all of our tenants so this may be something your landlord will want to do. My suggestion to you is to check your lease & read it thorougly to see if it is stated in it. If it is not it would still be the respectable thing to do to notify your landlord.

Yes. The landlord rented to you (and possibly your family). Any others sharing the residence need to be known by the landlord. Hope you realize that any damages the others cause will be charged to you.

Depends on your rental agreement or lease most landlords want to know who is living on the property. Some may charge more rent if you share and they may want to run a credit or background check .

You would need to read your lease agreement. If you rent month to month there is usually a contract that you signed. If you did not sign a contract you can do just about anything you want. I did not pay attention to what state you are in however you can recieve a copy of Renters Rights from the Housing Authority in your City.

Yes. It's for insurance purposes. The landlord also has to know the names of these individuals.

Yes. If they are going to be living there, it is a good idea to put them on the lease. That way if they cause damage, they are liable for it too.
