what is a true friend?

i have this question in my mind for years but i stil never no the answer.. i thought tht a true friend was someone u cud talk to and share all ur secrets wit and things like tht... but i think thts not it or theres more to it.. im just not sure anymore.. because i dont think i have any true friends except one .. but still anywayz. wats a true friend?

someone that has your back no matter what, someone who supports your choices(as long as they arent harmful), someone who doesnt get you into any trounle, & some to listen to you when you need a shoulder to cry on, someone who doesnt get mad at u for silly reason or stab you in the back

A true friend is someone who is there for you through good and bad times...who will be honest with you and tell what you need to hear whether it's what you want to hear or not...someone who would drop everything to help you in the time of need, who loves you inspite of your differences of opinions or social activities, someone who knows your thoughts and your emotions without your having to say a word, and someone who you can reconnect with no matter how long it's been since you've seen or talked to them!

Consider yourself blessed if you have one true friend...because a friend like this will be a friend for life! Friends come and go at different stages of our lives for different reasons. The key to getting a true friend, is to be a true friend to others!! I bet you have more than you think!! A lot of people consider friends as someone that they spend all their time with doing the same things, listening to the same music and wearing the same type clothes....when in fact, a true friend is probably very different from you on the outside....friendship is in the heart!!!

I true friend is what you think it is, it is someone you can talk to and share all your secrets with, someone who will be there when you need them an them need you, unconditionally. I only have 3 true friends and I am in my 40's I would rather have just one true friends than thousands of acquaintances. Someone once told me that if you have one true, do anything, die for friend in your lifetime than you are one of the richest and luckiest people.

Everyone has a distinct definition of a true friend.
Mine is a person who I can trust.A person I feel comfortable being with.A person that I can have a really good time with.A person that is there for me when everybody else decides to leave.A person who I can relate to in different ways.A person who I can call a friend and mean it.A person who understands me and why I do things sometimes.In this case that would be my best and I love him to death!

A true friend is someone you can be around and never get tired of. It is also someone you can tell your secrets to and talk to about anything and know they'll listen. I only have one true friend. She has been through just about everything with me, and has put up with me for a long time. I know and trust that I can tell her anything.

I think we all have the answer in our mind, but we all have different ways of interpreting it.
I think that what you said is true.But a true friend must be someone you trust and can be honest with.Someone who you can call family like a brother/sister. Someone who you know will catch you if you fall and will be there no matter what.
