Oh God, No! Israel's influence is already so ominous a concept to the Palestinian public that any support it gives (no matter how productive) is going to ruin their allies' perception among the public. Israel NEEDS to sit this one out -- and when some outcome seems to be in place, prepare for the best.

Its the late Sharon plan for Gaza withdrawal was a civil war but Fatah did not go for it from day one and Fatah did not fight Hamas in Gaza .

That can only make the situation worse.

right now Israel needs to step back and let the situation evolve as it naturally would.

As long as Gaza dose not start screwing with Israel then they should not get involved.

mabe after things cool down people can start talking, now is not the time.

It already has done detaining 40 elected hamas hostages ,who would have been a steadying inference. And with the EU&US armed Fatah. Election are all right as long as they elect who we want.

No. Hamas was elected by the people, and as far as I know is still supported by the people. Suppressing the popular viewpoint doesn't make it go away; peace will only be attainable when the people choose a peace-seeking government, not Hamas.

I think Israel will use this as a reason to destroy Hamas. Violence is never going to strengthen their relations.
