Some form of actual integration would be a good start. The problems have arisen due to political correctness - allowing people to come to this country and live as they would in their country of origin - which in some cases is totally at odds to what we regard as a civilised society. In my opinion Australia has the right idea: you're welcome to come and live here, but you live our way. I think the question is a little too vague - there aren't cultures indulging in "honour killings", but a fanatical minority of muslims - and this is a question of integration. How about we also call the crime what it is:MURDER - honour has nothing to do with it, it's about controlling women.
Private - it's a little difficult to have a rational debate with someone whos logo is a symbol of the Nazi party - it doesn't exactly suggest that you're open to discussion! However I'm not one for namecalling, and I'm certainly not a liberal. I agree with you as far as the loony left denying or ignoring issues caused by unchecked immigration, however some of your points are a little wide of the mark. The majority of the prison population isn't from ethnic minorities, the report you referred to stated that young black males are statistically more likely to end up in prison. I would bet that the majority of gun crime in this country is committed by this demographic also - safe houses aren't any kind of solution - that is simply shutting the barn door too late - addressing the cause of this social malaise would be far more effective. Aside from which, gun and gang culture is completely irrelevant to the question posed.

The main problems with this argument and i don't dispute some of what you say is true, is that how do you know they resent this country until they are in and settled, you can't set up a system where you say to someone at the point of entry you must be a loyal citizen and never have an opinion on it's past. Asian and Afro-Caribbeans peoples have been settling here for years, many with no problems whatsoever, but it's many of the younger generations that were born and bred here that are causing many of the problems we see today. I am of British Origin and am proud to be so, but if you want to blame someone look to successive governments, who have had no cap on immigration and now by and large it's too late to do anything about it. I do agree that people who don't like the system in operation, it's laws and ways should think seriously of going elsewhere, but that is not going to happen, many now have a foothold and aren't going to move whether we wish it or not.

Honour killing is investigated and prosecuted in the same way that any other murder is, which includes seeking extradition from countries (such as Pakistan) that a perpetrator may have fled to. Family members may also be prosecuted as accomplices.

Other than that, people here are educated about their rights and about agencies that can help them to escape domestic violence.

@ Private - That sort of bigotted, racist attitude doesn't solve anything. I am glad that people are reasonably free to immigrate between countries. Especially asylum-seekers. If it's that bad where they come from I believe we have a duty to help them out. And where did your ancestors emigrate from?

its all part of the greater problem that is Immigration.
Sure the loony left want to keep pretending these problems dont exist, then when it become unavoidable spend millions in taxes addressing it as an individual problem.

On the news today ,the government plans to spend yet more millions building "safe houses" for black people, yes only black people who are" in gangs and dont want to be."
Its a response to the majority of the prison population being ethnic minority.Does the idiocy of the loony left know no bounds?

Perhaps there is an easier way to solve these problems.repatriation would be so much cheaper too.

Edit;
morgybaby,I couldnt care less about your name calling, its what thinkers have come to expect from those who want to avoid the debate..As far as Im concerned,I am correct and you and people like you are part of the problem.
If you think that the parasites respect you for your wide eyed, naive and skewed vision of the world ,then think again. They see you as a mug.

edit.cybersharque.
whos the one answering the question in a sensible and factual manner?
Whos the one getting all upset about me having an opinion and blaming me for you not having the brains to have an opinion?
You wannabes are all the same ,no substance ,no argument,no facts, just insults when you get frustrated.
Pull yourself together son.

What 'cultures' indulge in them then?

All I am asking is 'which' cultures indulge in this?

I was under the impression that no country or religion supports this evil practice, but that some radical individuals interpret their family lives in this way!

So what are we going to do...prosecute a culture?????

We couldn't possibly have anything to say about different cultures as we would be denounced as racists, accused of fascism and rentaleft would be haranging us.

The scary thing, Private, is that you make people of principle wish to make exceptions to the rule of free speech. People like you belong in a cage in a remote location where the infection you harbor can be contained. Morgy's reaction is spot on.

Leave them alone. They're not bothering anybody, are they? Oh, do you know the one right way to live or something?

If they do it in your country, arrest them like any other criminal. Otherwise, all you can do is boycott countries that allow it.
