You have a cute new avatar.
Yes, you can overdress for dancing. Too much fabric can get in your way, even causing you to trip or fall.
On the other hand, you don't want to go so under dressed that you get cold between dances, or invite the wrong kind of glances. Light the floor on fire!

yes...you could wear a dress thats supposed to be for really formal events
