Does anyone know how you go about making your own buttons/pins? I know you can buy a button maker, but the finding graphics that fit thing still eludes me. Any suggestions, ideas? Thanks.

Also, can you buy programs that allow you to upload a pic and size it? Can you buy button makers with software?

You can make buttons out of anything! Fabric, wallpaper, photos, magazine pages, etc. When you find a design you like, cut it in a circle sized to fit the button you're making. Most "blank" buttons come with a template for sizing your item. If you don't want to cut the actual item but want to use the pattern, use a scanner to copy it onto paper or make a photocopy.

You can get the designs from a few sellers on eBay. If you want to make sure the button does not fade use a UV spray or a laser printer to print the designs. Badge-a-minit make cheap button making machines in the $30.00 range.. You can usually find a heavy duty professional machine on eBay for around $150.00 if you are lucky. You can buy designs and supplies from a dealer like this one http://www.buttonsonline.com/index.html but their machines are very expensive. You can also just make your designs aws well. I hope this helps.

You can just pick any graphics you want and size them to fit. For instance if you know it's a 2-inch circle, you can re-size your photos so they the will print 2 inches or smaller. As you gain experience, you'll be able to do it more and more quickly.
