My favorite is when he said,"OH, NO! We'd NEVER spy on you! We'd need a warrant to do that!"
And then DAYS later, the story broke that he was, indeed, SPYING ON AMERICANS. With no judicial oversight.
Yup. That still cracks me up.

Nick: How many times do you people have to have this explained to you? FISA allows for "spying." bush did not use FISA. He did it on his own, in secret, WITH NO JUDICIAL OVERSIGHT. That is illegal. That is in direct violation of the 4th Amendment.

TO CS: That is a limp piece of spaghetti that you should me mortally embarrassed to post. "Having something to hide" is not the issue. The rights of American citizens is the issue. The Constitution is the issue. The 4th Amendment is the issue.

To fdj: Sorry, doll. I couldn't read the rest of your post. When the first word is "your" and it's supposed to be "you're" then I can't read any more. Anybody who isn't smart enough to be able to differentiate between "your" and "you're" really can't teach me anything. Those two words aren't interchangeable.

To Carpanone: Baloney. I'm pure "genuine," dollface. Stretch? No, that's YOUR party. If bush needed to do some "monitoring" that's what FISA is for. To SPY on Americans with NO judicial ovesight is full assault on the 4th Amendment. I am SICK of bush apologists looking the other way while he hijacks this country.
HE IS A CRIMINAL.

When he said "we don't torture" then turned around and with the help of the GOP congress signed into law legal immunity for anyone accused of torture, and made torture induced confessions admissible as evidence in military courts.

My personal favorites:
3) "I'm a compassionate conservative." He's got to be one of the least compassionate people on earth.
2) "I'm a uniter, not a divider." Though to be fair, he did unite most of the world against the USA.
1) "That's exactly where the tax cuts went. Most of the tax cuts went to low and middle-income Americans."
--President Bush on 10/13/04
He used this one during his campaign for office in 2000 and was still using it 4 years later. That lie has staying power!
Honorable mention goes to all the lies which helped him wage war vs. Iraq, but those make me sad, so they're not my favorites.

Bush lied. About the cost of his tax cut. About who benefits. About his budget. He lied when he claimed he could throw money at the military, fund a prescription drug benefit, pass his tax cut and still not touch the Social Security surplus. And he's lying now as his budget office cooks the books to mask the fact that he's already dipping into the Social Security surplus--without counting the full cost of his military fantasies, or a decent drug benefit, or the inevitable tax and spending adjustments yet to come. Bush lies....

His dad was a liar, and so is he.
Remember he did not have a wood business. Tax returns stated that he did.
LIE: In his December 28th radio address, Bush claimed that the recession began before he took office. Both he and Vice President Cheney have repeated this claim during the reelection campaign. The Administration also unilaterally changed the method for calculating a recession to move the starting date of the Bush recession to 2000. This is even after President Bush is on record that “our economy has been in recession since March [2001]”. (Daily Mis-Lead 09.01.04, Center for American Progress Report 09.02.04)
FACT: The economy was still growing at the end of 2000, despite the incoming administration’s attempt to talk it down. The recession began in March 2001 during the first year of the Bush administration. This is even after President Bush is on record that “our economy has been in recession since March [2001]”. (Slate 12.30.02, Progress Report 03.03.04, Daily Mis-Lead 09.01.04, Center for American Progress Report 09.02.04)

"War on Terror".... Is actually a war on the civil liberties of Americans, and to plant the fear of terrorism firmly in the minds of Americans. > Osama is still out and about in Pakistan, while Bush is happily funding a nuclear-capable dictatorship that is ruling Pakistan.
"Iraq liberation".... He's actually liberating the oil from Saddam Hussein's hands..
"WMDs in Iraq".. are actually the weapons that America supplied to Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war.
And the last but not least, his oath to defend the constitution...
he actually said on video.. "I don't give a god-d*mn about the constitution, it's just a piece of paper."

mine is that the sale of drugs was linked to terrorism. when the Taliban for example were eradicating the opium crop in Afghanistan. actually concern over this crop was mentioned before 9/11. and it was said Afghanistan supplies much of the heroin to the U.S. it is one of the largest suppliers to the U.S. of heroin. so what is going on is drug dealing. should warn us ''we intend to sell you drugs'' followed by government statement'' it is possible a massive shipment from Afganistan is imminent as it is easier to ship as the authorities are busy.'' ''also more drugs could be sold in U.S. do not buy from Afghanistan you will only feed the drug trade there also do not buy from anywhere else buy onlyAmerican drugs and you have decreased the drug trade'' buy only legal prescription drugs and you limit the drug trade to the legal drug trade. also use anti-drug information in schools like has been done for years like anti- cigarette information. vidios and the like. might not works as far as i know it cannot be proven illegal drugs kill like cigarettes, if used in moderation drugs do not kill, stop legal drug pushers as well those pushing mrdication on everyone.there are two types of drug dealer legal and illegal only difference one is called pharmacetical industry other drug dealer .pharmacetical industry is bigger than illegal drug industry and has more police that are legal on it's payroll and does not have to bribe them they are security guards, and it also has the protection of city police via the taxpayers. favourite lie drug war. matters not who is President.

“If you want to scare the American people, what you say is the bill’s an amnesty bill,” Mr. Bush said this afternoon at a training center for border enforcement agents located in this town in Georgia’s southeastern corner. “That’s empty political rhetoric, trying to frighten our citizens.”
