I want to get a turtle. I am using a old fish tank that is maybe 10 or 15 gallons (maybe smaller). Will this amount of space supply a happy turtle? What species is best for this amount of space? Any other pet suggestions? I can only use this tank.

Musk turtles. They don't require a basking area, and don't grow very large.

Edit: With a turtle in the tank, you won't be able to put other pets in the same tank. A turtle is a predator, and will either kill or stress any other animal in the same tank.

sorry but you should get two because they tend to get sluggish and depressed looking without a companion, and no it won't be large enough because little turtles grow to be at minimum 5in in diameter and that is not enough space for it.
