Today we were moving and we have this nice expensive piano. It's black and shiny, It is not wooden. The movers made 2 cracks on it and my mom is pissed off. Are there any companies in/around Chicago,IL that can fix them? Plz, I really need your help because my mom is scary when she's angry. Any company names or home remidies? Can the cracks even be fixed. The movers are in a heck-of a lot of trouble with my mom now.....

Well, we hired unprofessional movers. So they don't have insurance.

Exactly what the other poster said, it is the moving companies responsibility so have them hire the proper expert to fix it. The cracks can be fixed but most likely won't look like it did without the cracks after it is repaired.

What do you mean by "it's [the piano] is black and shiny, it is not wooden?" If in fact, the piano is a Rippen Aluminium piano and the finish is cracked, then it's repairable and requires the harp to be repainted. Cracks along the edge of the piano case can appear regardless of whether or not it was moved roughly. You should contact a local metal works shop to have the harp resprayed with the appropriate color. By the way, how long have you owned the Rippen? And how did you acquire it? From a local dealer or directly from the Ede factory in Holland?

Good luck!

It's the movers problem. Notify the moving company and have their insurance company rep come to look at it.
