Why do Circus freaks amuse us so much?

The chemical reaction in our brains caused by the "surprise" of the unexpected. Similar to the adrenaline released on a roller coaster caused by the fear reaction of fight or flight.

Well, it's probably because they have the guts to be in front of an audience. Most people are shy about being the center of attention in public places. Those few that have the courage, and determination, do just that.

They get in front of others and "entertain". Some of them can accomplish physical feats, like acrobats, which require YEARS and YEARS of training and patience. Most people don't have that. It seems like we live in an ADD world.

So to answer your question, they amuse us so much, because they chose to. They chose a path that most people don't. And that's amusing.

i think that its the same reason that we look at car accidents, house fires, or anything involving a fire truck/ambulance it is curiosity of the unknown wondering why is it that way what must of happened to create such a thing
