Giving so much power to one physical item can be akin to equating the end of the world with a solar eclipse. By saying/believing that because my bed is messy I will have a messy day, you set the foundation for your day such that you will spend the entire day attempting to prove or disprove this fallacy.
Now if you’re a perfectionist, being that you care about the status of your bed so much, this very well might be, Then maybe a messy bed symbolizes that you are not feeling perfect today.

Not feeling perfect is ok. Personally I prefer just to feel great. Perfect is impossible to live up to. Perfection is almost unobtainable and impossible to maintain. If you wake up perfect, your whole day will be nothing but downhill.
If you wake up less than perfect, then you have the whole day to make perfect.

A messy bed means you started the day off right

Sometimes a messy bed merely means a great night previously, at least, before leaving the house. But yes, it often means a disorganized morning, which could easily lead to a disorganized day.

Depends on your point of view...if you like things neat, then maybe, if not...then no...

And it depends on what got it messy in the first place...active monkey seks really discombobulates the covers...while just normal sleeping might not...

I just have the lower ranking Spud Troopers make my bed...then I don't have to worry about it....

Totally. I can't function if the beds aren't made. Yes, I know it's an illness. If one of my kids messes up my bed, I have to straighten it before I can sleep in it.

Not necessarily. I like my bed to be the way it was when I left it in the morning. I'm strange that way.
