I want to go see Mr. Brooks with my little sister, but I'm worried that it will be too gory. Is it one of those movies that shows everything up until someone is killed or does it actual show the person being murdered?

It shows the whole nine yards, and the worst of it is a scene at the very end (I won't spoil it any further). The movie is rated R for very good reason!!

If your sister doesn't handle violence/gore too well, I'd recommend that she sit this one out. Or at least, first you go see the movie by yourself and then decide whether it's OK for your sister.

EDIT - adding more: Screenit.com is a website that provides a "parental review" perspective on movies. Even though your sister isn't your child, screenit.com's review of Mr. Brooks (link below) would probably be helpful for you.

Just reading the parental review would probably spoil the story for you, so I'll give you a little bit of the review. For the categories of "Blood/Gore," "Guns/Weapons," and "Violence," screenit.com gives a rating of "Extreme" (the maximum).

this is not a movie for your "little sister."

did you read the rating for this film? "R - strong bloody violence, some graphic sexual content, nudity and language"

the movie is rated R and it deserves it.

if you are really serious about this question, if your sister is not old enough to see it, do her a favor and don't take her to see this.
