I am just curious and I hope I do not offend anyone. But I see little red haired children between the ages of like 1-5, and they have no freckles. But older kids, and teenagers and adults do have freckles. I wanted to know if children develop freckles over time, or if its just that some people have them and some people dont. Thanks!!

I have naturally brown hair with red hi-lights. As a kid I didn't have freckles. But now as an adult I have them on my nose and on my checks. I started getting them when I was 16. So I guess it is all in your gene pool whether you get them. You don't have to be a red head, although they are more likely to have them.

True that redheads tend to be more freckled, however, you are not born with freckles, they are caused by the sun. Redheads are not the only people to freckle either. If you are fair then you stand a really good chance of freckling. I've even seen people with dark skin and freckles.

Yes some people do have them and some people just dont. However freckles do become more prominent over time and you can aquire them over time. Being in the sun does help them to show up and yo can get freckles if you are constanly in the sun. hope tha answers your question.

A little of both. I have freckles and have ever since I could remember but I didn't have them in pictures when I was a toddler. I get more when I go out in the sun.

People develop freckles over time. Basically they are the result of skin damage caused by over exposure to the UV rays of the sun. Red heads are generally more susceptible because they also are generally very fair skinned.

Some have them and some don't. Plus, they get darker over the years and with progressive sun exposure.
