Peavy is having a great year while Santana is having a great career. I would challenge anyone to look at their career numbers and see if they can come to any conclusion other than Santana. This is in response to who is better and not who is having the better season this year.

Jake Peavy, even though i'm a big Santana fan being from MN he has been in a slump this year. I think the reason is because he has no better pitches to help take the pressure of being the top pitcher for the team off Johan.

Well Santana is better just got to look at his career, However in 3-5 years Peavy is going to be the better player, back by numbers and possibly a cy young if he keeps it up this year.

As a career, Johan has had the better seasons. But as far as this year, Peavy is pretty much the top of the NL, perhaps even the entire MLB. Johan has also had the luck of being nearly injury-free.

I would say Santana, although this season he hasn't been quite dominant as he usually is...especially pitching at home...but his change up is amazing!
