Virtual memory is anothe name for the Windows swap file. You can manually set that from Control Panel > System icon > Advanced tab > Performance Settings button > Advanced tab > Virtual Memory > Change
It is best to set it to "System managed size", then Window will be able to automatically adjust as needed. If you want to manual set it, the Initial size should be twice that amount of memory in your PC. The Maximum double the minimum.

Windows automatically manages the amount of disk space allocated for virtual memory. There is no need for you to adjust it.
You can adjust it through your system properties -> Advanced -> Performance settings.
Really, if you are getting virtual memory messages, you either have loads of viruses and spyware, or you just need to buy more Physical ram.

You should problem let us know if you are using Windows or a Linux based system.
But quick answer is that you need twice as much as your RAM.
Windows is automatic and I don't know how to change that but in Linux, it can be configured during partitioning when the OS is formatted and installed. So I assume Partition Magic should be able to do it.
