she apologized but should i really forgive her?

I'd be pissed and would question her friendship. Change your email password and take rebuilding your relationship slow. Did she say why she did it? Is she jealous or something?

You don't have to accept her apology, but perhaps after you let things settle down, you can come to hate what she did (invading your privacy and lying to your boyfriend) and not hate the person (your best friend). That all depends on how long you all have been friends and if your friend has ever done anything like this before. If it is a longstanding friendship you can give your friend another chance. If anything like this happens again, it is time to cut your losses i think.

CAN you hate her? It should be more like "Should I kill/beat her?"
If you let her get away with it this time, she'll keep doing it over and over again!
Even as a joke, there are some things that friends just don't do - she stabbed you in the back (and even broke the law doing so!). It's clear that she is very childish, and will continue playing silly games like this for as long as you know her...
Which hopefully will only be long enough to tell her off and walk away ;);)

It was messed up what she did but you should forgive her but you should also find out why she did it in the first place because to be honest I'm sensing some relationship sabatoge

Here's the question... Did she do something that you wished you would have done a long time ago? If the answer is yes, she saved you time and effort. If not, kick her a**.
