I am getting my husband two things - one from the baby (card) and one from me.
From me, I am writing him a thank you letter to show my appreciation for all his patience, love and kindness throughout my pregnancy. I think that we women tend to forget how hard our pregnancies are on the guys. He is really ready for the baby to be born so that he can relax, know that I and his son are fine, and for us all to start our new life together.
I thought that Father's Day would be a great vehicle to use to express how much I appreciate everything that he has done for me and the baby.
As a gift, I am giving him a gift card to his favorite coffee shop and taking him out to dinner for Prime Rib tomorrow.

oh I think it would be totally appropriate to give him a gift;) I did with our first child when I was pregnant. I made a little scrapbook page with a picture of the ultrasound in the center and placed it in a shadowbox. He loved it!! I found something similar on the Things Remembered web site...see link below
CONGRATS BY THE WAY!!

Acknowledgement is very sweet of you! A card and a chocolate gift or a coffee (Starbucks) gift is plenty at this point.
Although after the baby is born, next year you might want to make a stronger statement.
Congratulations to you both!

there are tons of daddy-related baby/toddler books. you could get him one to start reading aloud to your baby before it is born. maybe not at 3 months but in a few more is a good thing to do! and at this point it is really more about the gesture.
