I think you make some good points about the media and i somewhat agree with them. It's all about ratings and advertising dollars so they will do whatever they need to make money. Just look at how much attention they give to people like Paris Hilton, who is not newsworthy whatsoever but will garner the attention and thus viewership of some people.
I think the media should be liberal though in the LITERAL sense an NOT the POLTICAL sense. Meaning that it shouldn't hold back information or news from the public as opposed to a conservative media that holds things back and doesn't report on certain issues b/c it may make something or someone look bad.

There's so much stuff going on that would be bad for both sides to have shown, but does not really get shown unless you know where to look. Everything is owned by GE, AOL, Disney, Sony, Viacom, and a few others - so you're seeing all the same stuff, it's just getting presented differently (i.e. one news story being delivered by Sean Hannity vs. Keith Olbermann). In a perfect would, the media would work as another 'check' on the government - but they just care about getting ratings. If I see one more effing thing on Paris Hilton on CNN, FOX, MSNBC, etc, I'm going to throw a shoe at my T.V.
CS - could is just be that Fox is that much to the right??

NO. The media is flat liberal, left-wing, and hypocritical. How often do you see the conservatives get credit on any news station. All the news these days is about all the people that get killed in Iraq. Why don't they report the good things that happen there, because there are good things that happen there. Plenty. Listen to Sean Hannity and Mark Levin. (770WABC - AM). Sean's on from 3-5 and Mark's on from 6-8.

I disagree. The media in general has always had a liberal, leftist slant to it. If it is a tool, it is a tool of the libs.

its actually very liberal... have you ever sat to watch a news station? Compare NBC, ABC, CNN to Fox News, there is a very large difference in bias.
Shelly- Its pretty fair and balanced... they do have a fair number of both Cons and Libs appear on several of their shows- oh yea Hannity and Colmes is a big one that sticks out...
