I dont do that but i think its because they want people to say that there pretty or that they look good. Low self esteem.

Myspace is stupid.
Its just screaming bring me drama.
If they really thought they looked bad they wouldn't
put it up. Its like they put these pictures up thinking
they look decent to say the least, and want people to
go oh wow your gorgeous what are you talking about.
Its like they wouldn't put a picture of them from a bad
angle or when they just woke up, but when they are all
prettied up they put it up? So people shouldn't even
comment those people.
=] why must people be so naive?

Yah I think it's what you said. People think 'If i say i'm ugly, people can't just sit there or it will seem like they agree! So then it will boost my self confidence when they tell me i'm not ugly!' Yes, the human race thinks in strange ways!

I don't ever do that.. but I think they definitely do so people will tell them how good they actually look in the pic.

They want attention. They want you to say that the picture is not ugly so they could hear a compliment. Its a horrible way of seeking attention.

It's so you tell them the pic is gorgeous, even if it's not. It's just a weak plea for attention.

Let me guess, they're usually women. You're spot-on about the self-esteem issue and the need for assurances.
