now for a real answer....

It has been scientifically proven that it is impossible to "see", "lock in" and "hit" 88mph or higher.

You are actually using muscle memory and luck. That's not to say you can't become a master of the muscle memory.

Think about it. If you hit 3 out of 10 times, you are hitting 30%. A total failing grade. However, in baseball, you become a bazillionare for 30%

If it were just skill, the MLB superstars would be hitting .750 like a little leaguer.

It's an old cliche and not accurate, hitting is actually 95% ability. You and I could have a great mental attitude and all the confidence in the world and still not be able to hit a 100mph fastball.

because on most fastballs, hitters have 4/10 of a second to figure out that it is a fastball, decide where it's located, and if it's worth taking a hack at it. pretty much all of that is mental ability.

Actually baseball is 90% mental, the other half is physical.

because 99.99999% of people can stick a bat out there or swing it but not nearly so many have the mental capability to do it at the right place or time

Because your not just controlling you arms, Your controlling all of your body into one motion. and with a ball, coming at you 80-90mph you have to not only locate the ball, you have to judge it's speed, watch for rotation to see if it is a breaking ball, and then get you body in a motion while trying to make contact with the ball.

They say that because if u dont think can do it, you wont do it.
You have to believe you are going to hit the ball in order to hit it. Confidence is the key.

you have to concentrate on seeing the ball, making sure you swing the bat in the right location, knowing when to swing by seeing the speed of the pitch coming, and recognizing what type of pitch it is, (fastball, curve ball, slider, change up, etc.)
