I have danced both. I am a teacher of Ballroom so it's fairly obvious which I chose. I prefer ballroom over ballet for the following reasons ...

1. Anyone of any age or body type can participate in ballroom.

2. In correctly taught ballroom, you will never be asked to twist unnaturally, kick up to your face, or do anything in general that goes against the body's natural movement.

3. Ballroom dancing done correctly does not punish the body but strengthen it.

4. Ballet is only choreographed. Ballroom can be choreographed or free form.

5. Ballet is predominately danced to classical music. I can dance ballroom to any piece of music I wish including but certainly not limited to classical.

6. Ballet never helped me get girls. Ballroom ... well, let's say the difference is staggering. :P
