The movie looks good hopefully it will be. I dont know though.
To Abagtha:
Are you a moron or just an a$$hole? She said she was just now starting the Half Blood Prince so obviously you gave away alot of the story for her. Jerk.

Order of the Phoenix will translate to film well, I think, because it's the least complicated, story-wise... there's no time travel or huge tournaments. A lot of the story is internal for Harry, which translates very quickly to film and doesn't take up much film time.
The biggest thing that I've heard will be removed is the Quidditch side-plot with Ron, which is unfortunate, because it lets Ron grow a lot as a character, but it's not directly associated with Harry's story or the progression of the book.
Half-Blood Prince is great! I personally didn't like "Caps Lock" Harry in OotP when I first read it, and he grows up a lot between the books. There is a lot more Dumbledore, too, who's my favorite character.

If you haven't already read the 6th book then you'll be in for a surprise. haha. but the 5th book as far as the movie goes, they will probably leave a lot out and have some sort of explanation for it. the movies usually aren't to much over 2.5 hours. The 4th book was huge and they had to put all that into a 2.5 hour long movie. So the movie isn't really long when you compare it to the book size. Usually they do a good job of having the animals in the movies so they should be there. So I think the movie will be good as usual but no where near as good as the book as far as details go.

Apparently, book seven, if not the movie will give you what you desire as far as Umbridge. J.K. Rowling has stated something along the lines of she (Umbridge) is just to much fun to torture to not have at her one more time.
And I've seen previews for the film and it looks like at least the thestrals will make an appearance.
HBP is excellent, but sad. Try to stay away from spoilers and just read it. I've know a lot of people who felt the spoilers really tainted their view of the book.
Good luck and Happy Reading!

Funnily enough, it's the longest book, but the shortest movie so far. I'm really hoping they do the book justice, since it's my favorite, although i'm sure they'll have to leave out some things.
HBP answers a lot of questions and brings up a lot of new ones. Have fun!

I'm nervous to go see the movie. I expect they will leave a lot out. It won't make any sense if they leave too much out. But I heard that they left out all of the Quiditch out. That's too bad. I was mad that Harry got kicked off (I hate Umbridge), but they win the house cup!!!! I'm mad about that already. And if they leave out Fred and George leaving I will scream (in the theater)! That is one of the best parts!!!! But the book is really long, amazing though. So a lot is going to be left out. I wonder what.......We'll just have to wait to see.

I agree -- the 5th book was a long one! It was so good, though. You saw some depth to Harry's character. the books keep getting darker! The Half Blood Prince is really really good. Keep some tissues handy :)

Its Harry Potter, of course its good. I highly doubt the film will keep everything in it but the main points. If you watch the trailer you can see harry on a thestrel.

YEA ITS GOOD....BUT I DIDN'T LIKE THE FACT, THAT HARRY AND GINNY HAD TO BREAK UP....AND THAT SNAPE WAS EVIL....I LIKED SNAPE...BASICALLY I DON'T THINK THE MOVIE WILL HAVE ALL THE INFO...CAUSE IF U HAVE READ ALL THE OTHER BOOKS AND SEEN THE OTHER MOVIES, THEN U WILL DEFINITELY NOTICE...THAT THE MOVIES ONLY HAVE HALF SOME OF THE STORY...ANYWAYZ...GOOD LUCK ON BOOK 6...I MYSELF CAN'T WAIT FOR BOOK 7.....
