Because since USC is such a big name college and has so many players coming out and becoming superstars in the NFL, whenever USC goes to recruit a player, the player thinks it's the best offer they can get. They think well since all these other players came out of USC and became superstars that they should go to USC and there future will be the same.
Just plain and simple, they get the best high school players because of USC's past players. Such as Reggie Bush, and Matt Lienart

hey LSUBALLS...was USC "fortunate" to pound MI the last 2 Rose Bowls they played in???...you think LSU would have played TX the same way USC did in the 06 Nat Champ??? did you forget the score of the last 2 times USC played ARK (an SEC team) 70-17 in 05 & 50-14 last yr??? or how about the pounding USC put on NE last yr 28-10 (the 1 td was a fluke), or what about the win over VT in 04 24-13 not to mention how badly we embarrased OK in the nat champ game that yr55-19...i guess all of those were just lucky wins right?????

Pete Carroll. He's very charismatic and his enthusiasm for the game is infectious. Some call it "rah-rah", but it obviously helps players buy into his program.
And he also stresses that anyone, including freshman, can earn playing time if they work hard enough. Add the perks of going to college in Southern California and it's no wonder USC has had, and will likely continue to have, such great recruiting classes under him.

Seven former Parade High School All-Americans at RB help. The most depth at LB of most major D-1 schools also is not a bad idea for a program to muster if they plan on establishing a dynasty. One of the best coaches in football as well. That atmosphere works. His players trust and put faith in him.

Who said they were so dominant? They have won (1) National Championship since the BCS started. They consistently have 1 or 2 loss seasons, which is great if you play in the SEC, Big 12, ACC, but they don't. USC plays in the Pac 10. You could put Florida, LSU, Texas, Michigan, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, etc. etc in the PAC 10 and they too would be highly successful. Dominant? I don't think so. I think the word to best describe USC is FORTUNATE. They are fortunate they don't have to play against quality football teams for the entire season.

They have been dominant because of Carrol. He's gotten lucky with a few recruits, but the window is always small with these programs. Miami used to be dominant too...
It's all going to end, sooner or later.

because there coach gives the recruits what ever they want and also because of the very nice weather and beautiful girls that live down in Southern Cal. If you were a recruit, who you rather spend time on the beach or be up north some where?
