Don't gripe. Commercialism has a lot to do with this crazy
mania. Company owners seek these people to endorse
their products and the better known athletes are reaping
the benefits. Basketball , football, baseball, and even track
and field stars are being idolized by millions of fans and thru
them products are endorsed and become a by- word and
thus increase their sales statistically, making what they pay
a paltry sum compared to the income they earn from
endorsements. and by the way, teaching is a noble
undertaking, but teachers are not born to be millionaires.

If you can get people to stop paying for tickets, going to the game, buying merchandise, watching the games on TV, stop the networks from putting games on TV, then maybe the athletes won't make so much money. If a form of entertainment and people are willing to pay good money to see them play and in return they get a fat check. Just like movie stars and music artist. Are they more deserving of the money than athletes. That's the way the world works, but if you want to start a rally to get people to pay more taxes to increase teachers pay, you better get started.

Supply and Demand, fewer people can throw a ball in a hoop than teach. Thus they are paid more.
