As one of the Independents who helped vote in the Democrats in the mid-terms, yes, I do agree. Nothing has really changed with the Republicans to garner any votes from us in '08. If anything, the Republicans have alienated the Independents even more since the mid-terms. To change that it would require a complete turn around of their support of Bush, and their cooperation to end this war - and I just don't see that happening anytime soon. Add the stink of corruption coming out of Washington from the Republican Administration and you can almost be assured that most of us will be voting for the Democratic candidate. A lot of Independents do not like Sen. Clinton right now, but in the end, when faced with a far right winger like Fred Thompson, or a guy like Giuliani that just stated we need to send MORE troops to Iraq, they will end up voting for Clinton - and she is likely to be the Democratic nominee.

First, the Patriot Act is the only new substitute. each and every president has used the others in assorted basic basic procedures to in good condition the circumstances of the time. Writ of habeas corpus replaced into used via Lincoln and FDR. Clinton used government order interior the No ask, No tell coverage of gays interior the armed forces and government privilege on many events whilst referred to as until now Congress. those have continually been a conflict between the Congress and Presidency as to the place the barriers lie and is frequently desperate via the splendid courtroom. i could help a Democratic president utilising those procedures of no longer basic the Congress because of the fact that could be a factor of the tests and stability gadget set up interior the form. I additionally help the Congress attempting to curtail it at each and every step. it fairly is the real magnificent thing approximately our gadget. each and every branch tries to maintain the different in line.

This independent believes so. This independent keeps trying to warn the Dems against two things: Illegal Immigration Amnesty, and Hillary Clinton.

Dems do not appear to be heeding the warning. Independents tend not to like extremes on either side. The Dems ace in the hole thus far is the incompetence of GW Bush, his corrupt administration, and his failed war strategy. This time around, it will be far more difficult for the neo-cons to scare people into supporting them.

Neo-cons could have remained in power had they not allowed their extremists to run their party.

It depends on who gets the nomination. A lot for independents would probably go for a Ron Paul republican candidate.
