i heard that the beach boys can't even surf! is this true?

Brian Wilson has a phobia about water. His brother drowned. Mike Love - don't know. You don't have to be able to surf to write surf music.

Brian and Carl Wilson never surfed. Al Jardine, didn't either. Mike Love tried surfing once. The only dedicated surfers were Dennis Wilson and Bruce Johnston.

Um, yes, because some of them are dead adn most of them are pretty old.
But really, a couple of them did surf, but not all of them.
That's why they were the Beach Boys and not the Surf Boys

No they can't. They are called the Beach Boys because they are stuck on the beach.......otherwise they would call themselves the Surf Boys.

really? i have never heard this, if it is true then what a bunch of hypocrites!
i looked it up on wikipedia, this is what i found:
"Although surfing motifs were very prominent in their early songs, Dennis was the sole actual surfer in the group. He suggested to his brothers that they do some songs celebrating his hobby and the lifestyle which had developed around it in Southern California."
