wet the fabric first
fold it like a fan
fold in half end to end
secore with several ribs of rubber bands about two inches apart
dye one side one color, the other another

OR spray the whole thing with one color then spray again just the bottom and top but not the middle
then spray just the not folded end
it makes a lovely graded effect

usually prewashing fabric is a good idea to remove any sizing and don't use a softener of any kind, just wash.

We always used vats of hot water and RIT dye... Rubber bands or tightly wrapped string on the garment.... and dipping, followed by rinsing in cool running water until it ran clear. Never heard of the spray bottle technique! Good luck!

Aren't you supposed to fill a bucket with color and dunk?
