please give honest opinions if you would feel comfortable with that sort of thing cause sometimes guys i know would rather if they are the ones that could protect their girlfriends / wives.

I don't want to sound out of place, but that is awesome if your learning martial arts! I would date you if you were doin that!! I don't want to say something stupid like "That's HOT!", but it is!! Good luck with it if your the one taking martial arts!!

I think a strong, self-confident woman is very attractive. I know nothing of martial arts except what I see in the movies but I can say this - "Ladylike" is inside of you. Do what you want to make yourself healthy and happy and doing martial arts or welding or any other "Guy" thing does not make you less of a lady.

I hope "ladylike" isn't a limiting, confining thing. Women can be very feminine while being very strong and very smart. These qualities don't prohibit each other.
If you become really aggressive, that wouldn't be good, but that's not what martial arts are about, I think.
You could be very skilled in martial arts, yet your man could be secure in his ability to protect you. Again, not mutually exclusive. If your man had some strong NEED to be your protector, if he NEEDED you to be defenseless, well, that sounds like he has a problem!

I don't think there is anything at all wrong with it. My wife and I are talking about enrolling my daughter in a martial arts program right now, actually. It's knowledge, and knowledge is always something that can help you.

think the Ladies should take martial arts if they want to. if a Lady is interested then She should do what She wants to.
