I dint put much faith in polls for this reason. The average IQ in this country is around 100. So that would mean the average IQ of those polled would be around 100. A 100 IQ just isn't enough to understand something as complex as global policy and politics. Personally, I would like to see a poll combined with an IQ test and then show those resluts. Not too long ago, I saw a poll done that showed that overwhelmingly the people who still approve of Bush tend to be the higher wage earners. Statistics show that the higher the intelligence usually the more success.
Now...as far as the 7%. Im sure its just people goofing around. Ive been polled a few times. I usually have fun with it, act stupid, say "duh" and stutter a lot and so the poll the exact opposite of what I truly believe.

No they do not have to have some opinion. I know it is difficult to believe but some people just don't care or have no opinion one way or the other. Fence sitters (Mugwumps) are alive and well and living in your neighborhood.

The Republican party wants us to keep bashing Bush because it covers the fact that not just Bush but the Republican party as a whole is out dated and do not share the world view that the majority of Americans share that we are all in this together instead of every man or corporation for themselves.

I'm one of the 7%. I don't approve of some of his policies, but he is not the monster that some make him out to be.

7% of the people are known as "middle of the roaders" in this. They've either lost interest totally, or else they don't approve of his policies but still have faith in him.

They dislike him too, but they're afraid that if they say so, they'll be whisked off to Guantanamo Bay and tortured.
