Sounds like it is running out of fuel after a short time. A couple of thinge I would check first. Remove the float and make sure there is no gas in it from leaking at the seam. Then istall it and be sure it is adjusted. Another thing to check,(this is something I ran into and it threw me for a loop with the same symptoms you describe) the gas cap was not venting allowing a vacuum to build up in the tank. If that happens, it wont let gravity work. Try running it without the cap on and see what happens. good luck.

try fitting a new spark plug (a decent one cos even a champion only costs about 2 quid) its always the first thing to go and the cheapest and nearly always cures the problem!ive had plugs that produce a spark but wont run an engine!?! if not? then all the other ans seem to have it covered!

fuel cap is not venting the tank. the fuel tank needs air coming in to compensate for the fuel going out. if no air goes in fuel flow stops. to check, loosen the gas cap as soon as the engine stops. see if it restarts after a few seconds. if so you found the problem. only other thing to check would be the spark as soon as it dies. sometimes the coil will overheat and loose spark.

Go to library and pickup a book on small engines. IN the book will be a troubleshooting section that you can go through step by step until you find the problem. Small engines can be difficult if you do not understand how they work.

Considering you have done everything you know how to do, I'd suggest finding an authorized repair center for snapper, and taking it in to be evaluated.
