I just love how everyone is up in arms about illegal immigration when no one cared at all just 1 year ago.
It is SOOOO just a diversionary tactic to get people to forget the disaster that Bush created in Iraq. It will backfire too as the hispanics helped put Bush in the White House to begin with.

How do you intend to help the children born in this country when one or both parents are deported?

This issue is so wrought with ignorance and racism it makes me sick.

As a leader I would work to bring education and caring into peoples lives. As a conservative (yes you ready that correctly) I would try to bring back true values and be the best possible role model I could possibly be. I would return the Republican party to the hands of the moderate right, wrestling it away from the racists, warmongers and homophobes.

1) Tort reform, and lots of it.

2) Dismantling Social Security.

3) Mandatory limits on all political offices, raising the pay for Members of Congress, and making it absolutely illegal for any organization or group to give any money to politicians for campaign purposes whatsoever. This will make it possible for ANY PERSON who is a legal citizen of sufficient age to run for office; of course, your employer will be forced to hold you job for you while you are in office.

4) Changing political ethics codes so that any violation gets you immediately and permanently barred from holding any political office again.

5) Making political lobbying illegal.

6) Ending the wasteful War on Drugs.

7) Tax reform--money that you save toward retirement reduces your taxable income, which will urge people to save for the future.

8) Convert the military into more of a mercenary force. If you want our military assistance, you can bloody well *pay* us for it, in advance.

9) Rational foreign policy. If you want to be our ally then what do you have to give us in return?

10) Social and educational reform. There is no reason consenting adults should not be able to marry one another, regardless of gender. Schools don't have to be architectural marvels, either--just put up some steel-frame buildings and give computer access to all students.

No more money to the United Nations, I'd throw them all out of the country and bulldoze that damn building right to the ground. What a joke.

Provide much money to research schools so this country can become self sufficient in energy production. In other words, make oil obsolete and stop financing the terrorists. Let them go back to living in tents in the desert.

Stop sticking our noses in everyone else's business and fix the immigration problem here in the U.S. You want to come here legally, WELCOME. You want to break our laws, see you later. Unemployment? Gone. We could use many, many more border patrol agents. I'd put the power back into the hands of the states and local governments to deal with immigration problems. They know how bad the problem is in their area, let them deal with it.

That would be just a start.
