Don't forget that he traded Sammy Sosa. OK, actually, he didn't really run the team, or even own a big share, he was just the public face of it, since he was the son of a president.

On the other hand, he turned his small investment into a huge profit when the government helped them build a new stadium with a sweet deal, and he sold his share after that. He managed to turn a lot of business failures into big personal successes.

Heck, Lincoln failed in business several times and now he's considered one of the top past presidents. Eisenhower spent over 20 years in the Army before he even made colonel. Hoover was a very successful businessman, but the Depression was during his term.

What a person does with his prior life has no reflection on how he will respond as President.

Get a life.

um,

Bush was a pretty good owner of the rangers. He not only got the city and the people behind the new stadium, but the rangers earned more money and put more people in the bleachers.

The profitibality of a team, and its attendence is what matters. Owners are not responsible for records, managers are. Owners are responsible for profit/loss, and when Bush ran the Rangers, they were profitable and popular. His tenure as owner set attendence record after attendence record.

Not that I'm comparing the two, but...

Abraham Lincoln failed running for office several times and failed at operating a store before be was president. He's considered one of the greatest Presidents of all time.

On the other side of the coin, Jimmy Carter was peanut farmer before getting into politics. He lost a primary for office once, but was fairly successful after becoming govenor of Georgia and finally president. His presidency is considered a failure due to economic and foreign policy snafus.

The owner of a sports franchise has absolutely nothing to do with the performance of the team...unless the owner is telling the team to purposely lose games.

2nd, 3rd, and 4th place is hardly losing...unless you are one of those people who believe that "2nd place is the first loser".

They had a winning record 4 out 5 years. Sounds like winners to me.

Bush failed at everything prior to entering politics. Owning the Rangers, running oil businesses that his daddy gave him into the ground, etc. Not to mention the DUIs and drugs, skipping out of his Vietnam War duty, etc..

Amazing the Republicans nominated the loser, let alone that he got "elected", and re-"elected". Makes me so proud to be an American.

No. Many people have had businesses that failed. We should have known he would be a failure because he's a loser who couldn't even finish out his Guard duties and had to be saved by daddy.

Well that is not bad part. He drove every business that he had a part of financially into the ground. Well thats the same thing that he did to the nation also.
