(1) Thanks to a Yahoo answerer I was able to see my IP number, but it was accompanied by 2 other numbers, thus: Subnet Mask: and Default Gameway: What do these 2 names mean?

(2) Why does Outlook Express have automatic double line space sometimes, so that I have to paste my text on notepad and then transfer it back to OE? Is there a way to make single line space a default? I wonder what causes it to do this, and what causes it to do it only sometimes?

Thanks so very much! Adela :o)

The sub net mask is used to determine which part of the IP address is the network ID and what part is the client ID.

The default gateway is the device that forwards requests to other networks external to yours (such as the Internet).

I don't use OE, but is sounds like you are using HTML formatted pages when this occurs.
