When I was 38 years old and we had 3 children, ages 18, 15, and 12, my husband and I found out I was pregnant despite the fact I had been taking birth control pills without fail for 11 years. One of my nurses said she was just amazed that I could even ovulate an egg after 11 years of usage of the Pill. She said my ovaries must have been the size of pinheads and that one egg must have been a determined little bugger! That "determined little bugger" will be 10 years old in July. Statistically, it is very low that you will get pregnant while taking birth control pills correctly. However, nothing but abstinence is 100% effective at preventing pregnancy. After our little surprise was born, my husband had a vasectomy. No more trusting the Pill for us! I exclusively breastfed (helps prevent ovulation) for 7 months (continued breast feeding until she self-weaned at 14 months - my period did not return until after weaning) and when we began having sex again we used a condom and spermicide until after my husband had 2 ejaculate samples tested to be sure there were no "little swimmers" present. Even then, we used up the box of condoms, just to be sure.

The pill is usually 99. something accurate depending one the one you take. yet not 100% that means there is ALMOST one out of a hundred people that have a chance to get pregnant. Its very rare but dont doubt the pill at all its better to have a 99.8 % chance of not getting pregnant than to be completly open to getting pregnant take the pill I have never got pregnant on the pill but as soon as I skipped two and waited 2 weeks to get my period to start them over again ... That period never came and sure enough My daughter was on her way to explore the world

The failure rate of all two hormone birth control pills is at least 0.1%, but that is under lab conditions. In the real world the typical failure rate is 5%.

Even at 0.1% 1 out of each 1000 women using the birth control pill as their sole method of birth control will get pregnant each year.

My little "pill" is 17 months old. Yes, I took it everyday at the same time. And no, I wasn't on antibiotics. I am just one of those few who still get pregnant on the pill. I am quite rare.

If you particularly do not wish to get pregnant, use a condom. There are tons of folks that also get pregnant at the tablet. If you pass over one, take antibiotics whilst you are unwell, or if you're tremendous fertile, at the fallacious style of tablet in your frame, you chance it. Just watch out! At least you would use that spermacide foam or anything!

actually a lot of women got pregnant while using the pills correctly. It's not 100% effective that's why! I have a friend that got pregnant while she was on birthcontrol.

seasonale was terrible for me, instead of not having a period for 3 months..I basically spotted for the 3 months, so I switched my pills...I had to stop taking seasonale and have a period then start my new ones...BUT me and my boyfriend didn't wait 30 days for it to become effective and guess what ?! I'm 20 weeks pregnant..so be careful
