Im looking at buying an air cooler and wondered if they actually cool a room like they claim they do. if anyone owns one or used one before please leave a message

For a correct answer, I think you need to restate your question.
There are several ways to cool air. The best solution depends on several factors.
An evaporative cooler will only work well if you live where the humidity is very low.
An air conditioner is best where the humidity is high.
More details on your environment and the type of cooling system you are referring to is needed.

we have one and YES it sure does...it may run your bill up a bit higher but i thought it was reg., airconditiong at first... i also have a fan going so as to help col, the bedrooms down the hall as well..i have it on now actually and im wearing sweatpants its chilly..have it set on 72 as well

They must work as thats all thats used in homes in Ariz.
