True hip hop fans know that these are (arguably) the two greatest hip hop/rap albums ever made. 'Illmatic' the debut album by Nas (certified platinum) set the stage for east coast rap in the early 90's as he focuses on lyricism and in the process creates a hip hop classic..What I think is so phenomenal about this album is the fact that it was his debut album and he was only 19 when he recorded it..'All Eyez on me' delivers classic after classic by the best rapper the hip hop world has ever known (tupac)..This album went platinum in just for 4 hours (now a certified diamond)...Two great artists, two great albums..
What album do you think is better and why?

Tupac's release is a defining moment for him as an artist and really hinted at - looking back - on what might have been in the future. Nas's phenomenal release literally came out of deep center field at old Yankee Stadium....and defined a hip-hop sound, and the CD still sounds fresh today. Nas gets the nod because of its impact on a generation of sound.

Tupac is a legend, though Nas is doing the thing
but hands down, "All Eyez on Me", till this day, that about stays on repeat.

All Eyez On Me because Tupac is a better rapper. Don't get me wrong - Nas is one of my favorites, but Tupac is closer to the top.

I've always listened to 2pac and I think that All Eyez on Me is actually the best . I like how he tells us what life in the ghetto is for him and it helps us understand . His lyrics are deep .

Illmatic
Nas is a true lyracist and although I have much love for Pac, Nas has got him on this one.

i personally prefer illmatic since i'm not really a tupac fan, although he does have a few good songs. tupac seems too "gangsta" for my taste.
