Only if you dry shave. Your skin is sensitive if you are a first time shaver. Try the 'Skintimates' gel. I find that for sensitive skin it re-hydrates the skin and it is fresher feeling. You can also go with the 'Veet' system. They use a depilatory cream that goes to the follicle and gets rid of the hair near the root. You will find that the stubble takes longer to re-appear. If you are using it for the first time, do a test patch on your skin to make sure that you won't react to it. Leave it on for about an hour, if the skin gets red and itchy, don't use it. If you have no reaction, try the vitamin 'e' and aloe. It is the best stuff.

I have been shaving my legs for 40 years, give or take, and they are fine. the shaving cream you use might cause breakouts, though.

No, it doesn't damage your skin.
It does dry your skin, though.
Just keep it moisturized.
