I think Janeane Garofalo would be an ideal choice to replace Rosie O'donnell on the View. Janeane Garofalo is a comedian, actress, political activist, writer and SNL alumnus. She is intelligent, outspoken and has an irreverent sense of humor that would blend well with Joy's. Janeane Garofalo's views on everything are just "controversial" enough that she would get people talking without creating tabloid fodder controversy the way Rosie did. She is just the injection of energy and spirit that the View needs to bring it back to being the type of intelligent talk show it was when it first aired.

it just stupifies me how so many people are in a hurry to replace bovine rosie!!

here's an idea. since the exit of shaq II was a direct result of political views and shaquille o'donnells blatant loathing of the republican party, why not have democratic hopefuls appear on the show. we need to be more concerned about who will replace bush than who will replace the bush lover. these democratic hopefuls would be put to the test. if you can survive this cackling hen party, especially the scorn of elisabeth, you have proven to be a formidable candidate for the next presidency. you gotta admit, things haven't been that great since bush took office.

I LOVE Janeane Garofalo!! I think she would eloquently put Hasselbeck in her place without being inflammatory like Rosie. She also respects people that she differs with (except when she is being the commedianne that she is). I htink she is closer to Meredith's personality, as far as temperment, so she would fit in nicely.

Great idea. I would start watching that show for the first time ever if she were on there.

Is she a Replican or Democrat, because she might clash with Elisabeth, but I agree she is very funny.
A blend of someone like Merideth would be better, maybe Kathie Lee she is not very opionated and as agressive as Rosie. It's a tough shoe to fill. I miss Star I think she was great!

Excellent choice! Janeane is a Naturalist and would be a welcome foil to Dizzybeth's religious rhetoric. Who knows, Janeane might even be able to raise her consciousness about how the world really works...

i totally agree with you. it's about time they actually had a well rounded person on this show, and i think janeane garofalo would be a good fit. i feel they need to get rid of elizabeth and find someone new to replace her too. i think everyone has had enough of her. i miss the other girl before her (she was asian, i can't think of her name right now)...she was intelligent and had a good head on her shoulders, that's why she got the offer to work for national geographic.

personally, i hate the view, but i would always try to catch it when kathy griffin was on....all the other women, minus joy, are such stuck up prudes!! kathy brings exactly what rosie brought to the show and thats what they need....

I heard on the radio that they might replace her with Whoopie Goldberg. I dont know, I dont watch the show, but she might do good in that spot.

i think that Diana sawyer would be a good replacement. she is smart and would not make stupid remarks about other people. she is a journalist and she does a good job on not taking sides in a decision.
